A: Yes the show is targeted to grades K - 6, although both younger and older students will enjoy different aspects of each performance, higher grades will get more out of the songs & events relating directly to the historic topics while the younger children still enjoy the exposure to the music songs and stories. Many schools split the grade levels for 2 assemblies on the same day. Content will also vary. We also present a preschool program, click the link for programs to see details. |

A: Generally 40 - 50 minutes per assembly |

Q: Is the performance always the same ? |

A: No. Themes vary depending on the holidays that are near to the time of your assembly. It is a free flowing dialog of songs that encourage students to embrace them and make their own discoveries. The show does have an underlying patriotic feel and the songs and stories performed are abundant with our true American spirit. See Program content link. |

Q: What should I, and my school, do in preparation for a performance? |
A: Create a buzz with your students and let your excitement rub off on them: Encourage them to think about songs and symbols that are “American”. Please review our programs on this web site and see which of it relates to your Social Studies lesson plan. Washingtons Crossing, Betsy Ross, Thomas Edison, Einstein. Find and let them listen to American songwriters like Woody Guthrie, Cowboy Singers Marty Robins and Hank Snow, The Johnny Cash Poem “This Ragged Old Flag” which is a great accounting of American history and pride in our flag. This can be found on this web site and read together as a class. Talk about the great things man has built and done in America, The Grand Coulee Dam, Mt. Rushmore, The Pony Express and Steam Trains to name a few. |

Q: What should I, and my school, do after a performance? |
A: Encourage the students to listen to and seek out music that relates to American history and the American spirit. Some teachers do follow up activities with the children and have the students draw pictures and write us letters. click here to see some Please Email or write us and tell us how you and your students liked the show. We LOVE to get drawings and letters from students. Also, we're always interested in hearing ideas on how we might improve the program. Please let other schools in your area know about us! |

Q: What can my students be expected to gain from this program? |
A: Music and lyrics work on an emotional level that textbook material cannot reach. Different people assimilate different music in different ways. Be sure to visit the References page of this web site to gain first hand insight into how listeners are inspired by these songs. There is no question that some students will respond positively to the material, and go on to develop a keener interest in the subject matter. These are songs which talk about the American spirit and pride in our great country. |

Q: Will the performers stay and sign Autographs after the show for the Students? |
A: Yes, but please schedule this in advance, sometimes they need to leave right away to travel to another performance the same day. |
